My Bio
Although I consider myself an artist in other mediums... I am a dead beginner at photography and am just learning how to use a manual camera. The photos in this gallery are my first attempt. I am thirsty for any advice or knowledge that anyone would like to share with me!

Thanks George!
You're welcome!
Hi Marj! Welcome to the wonderful world of DA!
Thank you for adding me to your watch list!Really appreciated!
You will have a great time on this site, and meet some really fantastic and interesting people. If you go to my profile page, check out some of the other really talented wild life photographers from my watch list. they are from all over the world and do some stunning work! I have learned so much from these other photog's and it really has helped me to bring my work up to the standard that I had wanted to achieve.
Thanks natureguy! I am just now trying to navigate this site and maybe/hopefully put some pics up! I still have no idea how to use my new camera. However, I'm catching on little by little. It's very difficult for me. As a painter,I see in my mind what I want to create. Making the camera do what I want it to...a totally different matter. At this point in time,I am basically a point and shooter. I'm hoping to change that! I have been trying to research little by little and I still don't have any idea or concept of anything technical with the camera,lighting,exposure...etc etc. lol! I have a lot of learning to do!
Now, see you're so lucky!... I have always wanted to paint, but can't even do a fair water color or crayon work. So I have taken the camera and made it be my outlet of expression, and inner creation! I can use the camera as an extension of my mind so to speak and bring to life the images that I have always wanted to paint!
With you being a painter, well the possibilities of excelling in this field should be easy, once you master the camera and light!
One big point I can tell you right now is always try to shoot with a tripod... nothing can kill a great shot more than camera shake or movement. You want the image to be crystal sharp! Composition will be easy for you with a painters "Eye". and shoot lots of pics,it's digital, you can always delete them, but you will also learn from these bad shots as to what was done wrong!
Yes! I have been dealing with the camera shake and I have had to take a million shots just to get one half decent. Unfortunately, light is hard for me to understand in technical terms...Machines are a difficult concept for me. LOL!...I am wondering if there will just be some shots I won't be able to get because of the angle of the light etc? Or will that change as I learn how to use the camera settings?
